Guest Teachers play a vital role in ensuring learning continues when classroom teachers are absent. This flexible position allows you to choose when and where you work while supporting students in a positive and engaging learning environment. Training and ongoing support are provided.

 

HIRING SALARY: $20.40 per hour

 

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
Support instruction aligned with District learner outcomes and State standards. Supervise students, maintain a positive learning environment, and adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs. Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.

SUPERVISED BY:
Chief Human Resources Officer or designee/School Principal/Assistant Principal

HOW TO BECOME A GUEST TEACHER

 

 

Step 1: Apply Online

Submit your Guest Teacher application.

Step 2: Interview

Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a phone interview.

Step 3: Accept an Offer

Qualified candidates will receive and accept an offer of employment.

Step 4: Licensure / Authorization (if not already held)

 

Guest Teachers must hold a valid Colorado Teaching License or Substitute Authorization issued by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).

 

FINGERPRINTING & BACKGROUND CHECK

Fingerprinting is required to obtain a Colorado Substitute Authorization.
Applicants are responsible for all fingerprinting fees. No reimbursements will be issued.

You will be prompted to complete the pre-enrollment process by entering CBI and FBI information required for your specific background check.


During your 10-minute appointment at the Colorado Fingerprinting Enrollment Center, a technician will quickly and accurately complete the process by performing ID verification, fingerprint capture, photo capture, and signature image capture in compliance with CBI and FBI requirements. In the rare event that your prints are rejected for print quality (less than 1%), you will automatically be notified via your preferred method of contact (email or phone) with automated links to reschedule an appointment at no charge.

**PLEASE NOTE** if you do not complete the fingerprinting process within 30 days of submitting your license application, it will expire and you will need to reapply and pay a second application fee. It is recommended that you schedule your fingerprint appointment before applying for your license or authorization.
