Eagle Valley Elementary (EVES) is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School serving the community of Eagle. With the Learner Profile and the six global themes at its center, the IB Primary Years Program focuses on a transdisciplinary curriculum that is engaging, relevant, challenging, and significant for learners in Pre-K through 5th grade. At Eagle Valley Elementary School, every student is educated for success in both English and Spanish by developing into inquisitive, informed, and compassionate citizens. EVES creates students that are independent thinkers, problem solvers, lifelong learners, and responsible members of a multicultural society.

The principal of an IB World school shares pedagogical leadership with the IB coordinator and other members of the leadership team. IB principals must be collaborative, committed to the IB Learner Profile, and knowledgeable about the IB Standards and Practices for schools. Additionally, the EVES principal must be a creative thinker, capable of cross walking and translating the IB philosophy and processes with district and Colorado expectations. Also, in simplest terms, the IB philosophy is an inquiry-based method of instruction and is best served by a service-minded, inquiry-based leader who can equally apply the IB philosophy to professional development and student-centered learning. Most importantly, an IB principal must align the work of the school to the mission: Eagle Valley Elementary strives to develop young people who will create a more peaceful world through respect and intercultural understanding.
