SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The MTSS Coordinator must be knowledgeable of the 3 Tier Response to Instruction (RTtI) process, possess the ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teacher leaders, school psychologists, director of curriculum, special education teachers, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents. Must be able to design, implement and monitor for consistent and effective implementation of interventions designed to help students achieve academic success. Must be able to evaluate universal screening and assessment data, direct the implementation of data-based problem solving and decision making, promote a layered continuum of support, and support school-level, team-driven leadership in all schools related to MTSS.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
Define the System
- Organize and facilitate the district level MTSS Team.
- Organize and align interventions at all levels for reading, math and behavioral.
- Develop and implement a 3-Tiered RtI system to address student needs and increase student achievement.
Coordinate Implementation
At the district level:
- Coordinate with other departments for the procurement of intervention resources (Curriculum Director, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, and the Business Department).
- Coordinate MTSS staff development activities.
- Create an atmosphere of sharing and cooperation at meetings with teachers and parents.
- Schedule, train, or facilitate training for all district approved inerventions
To school level teams:
- Provide observation, feedback and other supportive assistance necessary to effectively implement MTSS.
- Encourage and model skillful use of data to inform decision making and problem solving.
Facilitate Data Driven Problem Solving
- Provide documentation and progress monitoring data to stakeholders as needed.
- Manage data (academic and behavioral) on all students, that includes data from classroom observations, teachers interviews, parent interviews, universal screeners, report cards, work samples, Istation, STAR Renaissance, PBIS, and Curriculum Based Assessments.
Quality Control
- Monitor for consistent and effective goals and interventions within student plans for MTSS/RtI using the Frontline and Educlimber platforms.
- Stay current with MTSS trends and research-based interventions so students have access to the best interventions available.
- Monitor processes to ensure adherence to district procedures and state guidelines, and compliance with federal regulations including the READ Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in education.
- Possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in education.
- Hold a valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license.
- Ability to develop, coordinate and conduct program evaluations.
- Possess strong collaboration and mediation skills.
- Advanced training in MTSS or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of special education laws and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Strong data-base problem solving and decision making skills.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with both numeracy and literacy intervention programs and resources.
- Ability to evaluate programs and personnel.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
