HIRING SALARY RANGE: $40,000 - $48,000 per year

POSITION SALARY RANGE: $40,000 - $60,000 per year

 

Position Purpose: The Early Childhood Education Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance, coaching, mentoring, and quality assurance support to enhance the delivery of Inclusive Early Childhood Education in Eagle County School District's classrooms.  This role promotes continuous improvement in teaching practices and program quality through training, evaluation, and collaboration with community partners.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities: Performance Indicators

  1. Technical assistance: Content development and consultation
    • Maintains up to date knowledge of best practices in the field of Inclusive Early Childhood Education, and disseminates such knowledge by providing ongoing quality assistance to staff.
    • Provides information and resources related to early childhood to support teachers, classrooms, and program quality improvement efforts.
    • Promotes continuous quality improvement and quality assurance efforts for the department. 
  2. Quality Assurance: Evaluation and Assessment
    • Supports classroom and program monitoring through, classroom observations, review of electronic records, and work groups.  Helps assess classroom and program needs and assists with planning strategies for system/process improvement
    • Supports the implementation of the department self-assessment work plan to ensure the program/content goals and objectives are met.
    • Provides guidance and support to staff with implementation of lesson plans, curriculum and ongoing assessments.
  3. Coaching and Mentoring:
    • Provide coaching (individual or group) related to teaching practices as requested or assigned.
    • Provides skill development and mentoring to staff as needed or assigned. 
  4. Team Work: 
    • Communicates consistently and effectively to build trust.
    • Works cooperatively with teams and community partners to provide identified supports. 
    • Communicate regularly with direct supervisor.
  5. Training:
    • Assist program teams, ECE School Director and ILT in development and implementation of training as requested or assigned.
    • Monitor implementation of training expectations. 
  6. Committess and planning: 
    • Develops, coordinates, facilitates and attends relevant meetings, training and professional development activities as needed. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least an Associates Degree in Early Childhood or a related field, Bachelor's Degree Preferred in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field
  • At least three to five years in the field of Early Care and Education.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet and e-mail.
  • Valid  Driver’s License and access to transportation.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

  • Ability to facilitate and provide presentations to large and small groups.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and appropriately with others.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to utilize department resources and technology. 
  • Provides high quality work and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload and deadlines.
  • Initiative and problem solving skills.
