Our Guest Teachers bring enormous value to our schools; they ensure learning continues when teachers are absent. They provide knowledge, encouragement and inspiration to our students.
This role offers the opportunity to positively impact students' experience, while having the freedom to choose the days that you work, and the schools and classrooms where you want to teach.
Training is provided to ensure our Guest Teachers have the tools to succeed in the classroom.
HIRING SALARY: $20.40 per hour
SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Support instruction and assessment aligned with District learner outcomes and State achievement standards. Supervise assigned students and maintain a positive learning environment. Adapt instruction to meet the learner needs of all students increasing the probability of advancing their achievement. Maintain positive inter-personal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
- Teach the approved Eagle County School District RE50J curriculum based on lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Implement the regular teacher’s assigned responsibilities, plans and schedule.
- Assess student work when appropriate and time permits.
- Promote and maintain student behavior expectations conducive to learning, and maximizes learning time.
- Prepare a summary report of work completed and the day’s events for the regular teacher.
- Establish and demonstrate positive human relations with students, parents, other staff members, and the community.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and security of all student information.
- Comply with District and School policies and procedures including meeting with assigned students at scheduled location and time.
- Utilize the Substitute Absence Management/SAM system to accept/decline/manage his/her work and schedule in the capacity of a guest teacher.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid teaching license or substitute authorization issued by the State of Colorado.
Fingerprinting for your Colorado Department of Education Substitute Authorization
Before anyone can participate in any field experience, practicum, internship, employment, or other placement, they must pass a background check. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have both contracted with two third-party vendor, Colorado Fingerprinting, to take fingerprints. This electronic process is far faster than the old fingerprint card method. NO REIMBURSEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED.

- The Billing Code is not provided, as applicants will pay for their own professional certification.

- Enter the CDE CBI unique code is 1134ETPI
- Locate an Enrollment Center convenient for you, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND Copy Plus in Eagle.
- You will be prompted to complete the pre-enrollment process by entering CBI and FBI information required for your specific background check.
- During your 10-minute appointment at the Colorado Fingerprinting Enrollment Center, a technician will quickly and accurately complete the process by performing ID verification, fingerprint capture, photo capture, and signature image capture in compliance with CBI and FBI requirements.
- In the rare event that your prints are rejected for print quality (less than 1%), you will automatically be notified via your preferred method of contact (email or phone) with automated links to reschedule an appointment at no charge.
